Whilst Making Merry

Uncategorised

I know that you have a big vision for your life, and for the world. Otherwise, you wouldn’t be here. You’d probably be watching funny cat videos on Youtube, instead of reading this email that will push you closer to your goals. And, though there is nothing wrong with kitten entertainment, I’m glad you’re here.

This is the last part of the series on my Vision Board Action Cards. If you missed any of the previous inspired actions, check them out HERE. The last action is: Celebrate. Notice how far I’ve already come and all the wonderful things I have in my life.

When you draw this card, make merry, be grateful, and delight in your life.

I know you have dreams that haven’t been achieved . . . yet. But that doesn’t mean you should deny this moment the love that it deserves. Right now – yes, right now – you have a life that is worth being grateful for. Even if things are hard, you’re alive and breathing, there are people who love you, there is tremendous beauty all around you, you probably get to eat delicious food on a regular basis, you can read and comprehend and learn, and sing, and dance, and so much more.

Sometimes we’re so focused on what we want for our future, we forget to appreciate what we already have. And we also forget to celebrate when more goodness happens. We’re just kinda like, “check,” and on to the next accomplishment. This reminds me of one of my grandmothers. My siblings and I have always known that if you ever want to get another present from her, you damn well better write her a thank you note when she sends you something. I’m not saying the universe is going to stop delivering good stuff if you don’t say thank you, but if you appreciate the gifts you get, why not express your appreciation – at least with celebration.

Honor the effort that it took to get you where you are. Honor the brilliance that you bring to your life to make it happen. – Tweet it

I loooove to celebrate. Sometimes it’s poppin’ champagne, and sometimes it’s reading my favorite book and going to bed early. There’s no wrong way to celebrate (although I would advise against combining too many controlled substances or shooting holes in your ceiling).

If you’re new to expressing extreme gratitude whilst making merry, I have some ideas for you:

  • Have a few friends over for a game night and wine.
  • Take a long walk in the middle of your work day.
  • Buy yourself a gift.
  • Go out dancing or invent a new victory dance.
  • Plant a tree to mark the occasion.
  • Go out for a lovely meal, complete with champagne.
  • Take a class you’ve wanted to take.
  • Explore a new place with your best friend.
  • Take a bath and read a novel.
  • Go on a trip for a long weekend.
  • Scream, “Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! This rocks!!!” at the top of your lungs.

I know you can do this. It’s an important action step to take toward making your dream life real. Don’t skip it.

What I would love to hear from you is what you can celebrate about your life, right now. Scroll down to the comments and say it loud and proud. YOU ARE WORTH CELEBRATING. I’ll join you.

I’m celebrating my family (with a little one on the way), and the return of summer! I also did a little happy dance for a client who sent back my invoice and asked me to double it because he liked the work so much.

    That’s awesome Phil!
