During this intense time in many people’s lives there’s a lot of talk about self-care. But what does that really mean? It’s not just showering or brushing your teeth but to get to the essence of self-care we need to invite that space into our lives and create a practice of self-care. Many people feel guilty for taking care of themselves. But just like the emergency instructions given on airplanes ‘put your oxygen mask on first before helping others,’ this same rule applies. You need to care for yourself before you can truly help others and in our daily lives this is done with self-care.
