Do This Now

I hope this blog finds you well and your heart full of love. I’ve been in the midst of extraordinary challenges in opening our spa in Boulder. Nothing I can’t handle, but man, I’m looking forward to resolution. I’ve been using one of the most important manifestation actions – communication – like it’s going out of style.

It’s one of my vision board action cards, along with acting the part that I talked about last week. You can read about that HERE. The action card reads: make a communication that will bring me closer to my vision.

So if your vision is to have a new beautiful house with a view, your communication might be to call a mortgage broker and set up an appointment….even if you don’t feel ready. If your vision is to have a fulfilling and romantic relationship, the communication might be an email to your closest friends asking them for help in finding your ideal mate.

For me, a lot of the communications that are moving me closer to my goal of opening our spa on time have been to call new contractors, reach out to people in my community, and calling on others for support.

These communications aren’t always the easiest to make. But, I’m willing to be uncomfortable to get my dreams. Are you? – Tweet it

Here are my four steps for making communications that will move you closer to your goals.

1. Share your vision. Use your own excitement about what you are going for to engage the person you are communicating with. Your enthusiasm is magnetic.

2. Identify what you need. The more specific you can get about exactly what someone can do to help you, what you are looking for or need, the more likely they are to be able to assist you to get exactly that.

Make it easy for them by being super clear and concise. Everyone is busy, if they have to think about how they can help you – they are less likely to do so.

3. Ask for help. If you want to go big and live your dream life, you can’t do it alone. Your community is there to help you – but you must make the request.

Asking for help is one of my super powers, I want it to become one of your super powers too! Give people the opportunity to say yes, and the freedom to say no. Just because you ask for help doesn’t mean that anyone has to do anything for you. But if you never ask, you’ll never know.

Letting people help you is good for you, and good for them. Don’t you love helping people? I know that I do, and it makes me feel closer to them that they would let me into their lives to that degree.

Invite people in.

4. Express gratitude. It’s really important that when someone does step up and help you – whether it’s giving you medical advice, helping you move to your new beautiful house with a view, or giving you interview tips for your dream job – that you genuinely thank them. You can write them a card, send them flowers, publically acknowledge them, or verbally tell them how grateful you are, but make sure you do it.

Now it’s time for you to put this into action. Right now, take 10 minutes and make a communication that will bring you closer to your vision and then scroll down to the comments and tell me what your dream is and what communication you made!

P.S. My girl Sarah Jenks (I’ll be introducing you to her next week) just invited me to her Live More Weigh Less Launch Party that she’s hosting online via UStream. She’s giving away some amazing gifts including a spa package from The Dragontree, Mac products, a spot in her group program and a styling session. To get the invite you gotta sign up for her video training series here. It’s going to be so much fun!
